David Thomas arrived at UCH in London on 7 September after cycling 400 miles around the UK in aid of World Child Cancer
Congratulations to David Thomas who cycled 400 miles in September between some of the UK’s main child cancer treatment centres.
David started his trip at Jimmy’s Hospital in Leeds and finished at University College Hospital in London visiting Christie’s in Manchester, the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore along the way. David was motivated to raise money for children with cancer in developing countries after his own son was diagnosed with cancer. David’s son received excellent care in the UK but he became aware of the inequality in the provision of cancer treatment for children around the world. David dedicated his trip to Geoff Thaxter, World Child Cancer’s founder who died in 2008.
The bike ride has raised more than £12,000 for World Child Cancer as well as essential awareness through coverage on local radio and in local papers. Our thanks go to David and his team of supporters for all their hardwork.
