Arty Fun in Bangladesh!

On Monday the Department of Paediatric  Haematology and Oncology at BSMMU in Dhaka hosted an art competition for children undergoing treatment. The fun event enabled the children to express themselves, and provided a creative activity for families to do together.

As much as anything else, it let the children be themselves and do what children do best: imagine! Of the event, the Chairman of the department, Professor C.Y. Jamal, said “it is not a competition, it is a joyous occasion”, while Project Lead Professor Afiqul Islam said “the main motive of this art competition is to make children happy.”

The successful event will certainly be repeated – giving more children with cancer a chance to be creative and show off their talents.

This project is supported by UK Aid from the UK Government.
