Christos Nicolaou

I was first introduced to World Child Cancer by a colleague who had volunteered with them in the past. I participated in the collections at the Royal Albert Hall last Christmas which was a joy with the Christmas music and spirit flowing. After such a great experience I decided to join the World Child Cancer team again by volunteering at the cheer point for the London Marathon 2017, which was my first marathon attendance. Joining the World Child Cancer team and other volunteers in supporting those running, both for World Child Cancer and other charities was a pleasure. I have just completed the Ride 46 in 2017, raising funds for the great work that World Child Cancer is doing around the world, working to a vision of a world where every child with cancer has equal access to the best treatment and care. The team at World Child Cancer have a personal and friendly communication with its volunteers and I am happy to have supported such a great cause.

Having taken part in sporting events in the past, I know the difference that public cheering can offer, giving the participants that extra boost! - Christos Nicolaou

Although I had undertaken several voluntary roles previously, this was my first time helping out at a cheer point. I never expected to see so many cyclists/competitors and the atmosphere    was great!
