At World Child Cancer, we love to celebrate and recognise the fantastic efforts of fundraisers who support our work and help to raise vital funds for some of the poorest children with cancer across the world. For this first quarter, our Fundraising Heroes are the wonderful Dooley Family consisting of Rebecca, Denis and William. The Dooley Family who have a personal relationship with the charity, held a Ceilidh event at Cecil Sharp House in Camden, an award winning folk music and dance hall. There was a raffle and an auction on the night, as well as entertainment provided by Ceilimax band with dances such as the polka taking place.
Our World Child Cancer representative, Lisa Fernandes gave an inspirational talk about the charity to the guests on the evening.
A total of £4,789.30 was raised on the night which exceeded their initial £4,000 target. This fantastic amount could pay for essential Ward equipment in Malawi for 2 years. The Dooley family are thrilled to have raised so much money and re-iterated that they certainly couldn’t have done it without the generosity of all their guests and the tremendous support from the team at World Child Cancer.
“We are amazed by the work that World Child Cancer do and knew that our money raised would be used effectively for children in need”.
On behalf of the Fundraising Team, we want to congratulate the Dooley Family for organising an incredible event and want to extend our heartfelt thanks again for choosing to support World Child Cancer.
