We round up our section of fundraising heroes with this truly remarkable being. Niall who is no stranger to challenge events has been competing in the Dragon Ride in the Brecon Beacons for the last 3 years and completed L’Etape du Tour 2016. After he already secured his place on the tour for 2017, he made an important decision to raise money for World Child Cancer, after attending our first ever gala dinner in March 2017 supported by Ambassador Geeta Nanda, where he heard more about the charity and the great work done and the positive impact on children’s lives. Niall was delighted to have competed in the tour again this year. It was a special moment for Niall to have had the opportunity to cycle a Tour de France stage in the Alps on closed roads, in the full sun and be cheered on by people of all ages.
During the L’Etape a number of fellow cyclists acknowledged the jersey and said what a good charity and cause. Such simple acknowledgements means a lot
Niall did an amazing job cycling 181km in a day in scorching temperature of 26°C and raised an astounding £1,479.00 in total. This amount raised could pay for an outreach nurse on a motorbike for one year in Cameroon. We send hearty congratulations to Niall for completing L’Etape du Tour 2017 and we are grateful for his support this year.
