Jewel Ahmed joined World Child Cancer in March 2020 as the Programme Coordinator for Bangladesh. He is a development professional with over eight years of experience in stakeholder capacity development, monitoring work plans and budgets and project design. Jewel has also been involved in implementing Gender Based Violence (GBV) programmes, HIV/AIDS work, gender, social inclusion and humanitarian assistance projects. He has vast experience working in major organisations including BRAC, Action Aid Bangladesh, UNFPA, The European Commission and The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Jewel also has experience working across different government departments and agencies including work with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Bangladesh Police, HIV key populations, sex workers and their children, rural communities, refugees and school children and teachers.
Jewel is delighted to be a part of the World Child Cancer team, and to perform his role in helping to save the lives of children with cancer living in the developing world. When not hard at work, Jewel loves to cook and play with his children.
