Become a Community Volunteer

to Make an Impact!

Are you interested in supporting World Child Cancer in your own way? Do you want to organise your own event in giving children with cancer a bright future? If yes, then you are at the right place. At World Child Cancer we are always grateful to our supporters and volunteers. Volunteering is not only about doing bucket collections, becoming a volunCHEER or volunteering at special events, but also the events that you can organise in your own community.

World Child Cancer is offering the opportunity for you to become a Community Volunteer! This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about World Child Cancer within your local community.

To support you, we have a Fundraising Pack with lots of ideas about organising an event and raising awareness in your community.

Also, here are some simple steps to help you plan an event in your community.

Spreading the good news: If people have not heard about World Child Cancer they will not be able to support us. So, if you are planning on organising an event, make it known to your friends, family, community groups, church groups and the local community.

Connecting the message to the rest of the world: You can use social media to let others know of your event and how they can participate. You can tag World Child Cancer in it and we can help you promote it as well.

We are a team: World Child Cancer will support you all the way from the beginning to the end. We can provide training on the phone or in person if you live in London on how to work with us and how to be a spokesperson for the cause, including understanding our vision and mission. We will also provide a training pack of information on the charity. Regular contact will be made between the Community Volunteer and the Community and Events Executive via email and Skype calls as necessary.

It’s all thanks to everyone: Planning an event and getting people to come is always wonderful. At the end of the event, it is important to thank everyone that was there to support the event. Also being a Community Volunteer can lead to other opportunities at World Child Cancer!
