Meet Efia, a three-year-old girl who is being treated for eye cancer at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Despite her tender age and her condition, Efia hopes to fulfil her dreams of becoming an artist when she grows up. Between World Cancer Day (04/02/18) and International Childhood Cancer Day (15/02/18), you can give children with cancer, just like Efia, the gift of growing up!
- Share a picture of yourself as a child on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag @wchildcancer
- Include a caption of what you wanted to be when you grew up using the hashtag #giftofgrowingup
- Donate to help increase childhood cancer survival rates to give children like Efia the gift of growing up
Efia is one of the 300,000 children that develop cancer each year. With survival rates as low as 10% in developing countries but as high as 80% in the developed world, you can make a difference to even the odds. Just £10 could buy pen torches for healthcare workers to screen children for eye cancer.
