Hannah is just eleven years’ old but despite her tender age she is taking on the challenge of walking 25km along the Thames path to raise funds for children with cancer around the world.
In 2018, Hannah’s mum sadly passed away after being treated for breast cancer for ten years. Before her passing she enjoyed getting involved with charity fundraising to help others, and now Hannah is following in her mums’ footsteps by fundraising and helping to give children with cancer the Gift of Growing Up.
Together with her father, Will, the pair intend to walk from the Thames Barrier to Battersea in a bid to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer. Alongside the sponsored walk she is also holding a bake sale to raise even more money to support children with cancer in low- and middle-income countries who do not have the same access to treatment as her mum had.
Hannah bravely delivered a presentation at her school to inspire others to fundraise for children with cancer, taking the opportunity to also sell wristbands and sweets to help raise awareness of World Child Cancer and the fundraising she is doing.
If you are inspired by Hannah’s fundraising, then get involved by hosting your own fundraiser at your school or taking on a sponsored walk. Contact Alice today to find out how World Child Cancer can help you with your fundraising and for other awesome fundraising ideas.
