Having chosen us as their Charity of the Year, King’s Bruton School in Somerset have gone above and beyond to raise money for a cause so close to their hearts. The School, along with The Friends of King’s Bruton managed to raise an impressive total of £8799.43 through a number of innovative and exciting events that were organised throughout the year.
To commemorate Wold Cancer Day, over 400 pupils and teachers joined together in a #nophonefriday, which raised over £5000. Other notable events include a Chapel Choir concert and a house rounders tournament in the summer, both of which also raised a great deal for the cause.
The amount raised by the school could:
- Fund 3 teachers at our hospital school in Myanmar for one year,
- Support the salaries of 4 nurses on a children's cancer ward in Malawi for one year,
- OR pay for the training of key staff on children's cancer wards in the Philippines for over a year.
A massive thank you to the pupils, parents and staff at King’s Bruton School for raising such a fantastic amount!
