Charlie Smith is only nine years old, but he is taking on the amazing challenge of running the distance of a marathon through weekly 5km Park Runs to raise money for “The Sacha Gauci Remembrance Fund”.
Sacha was just two years old when he died from a rare brain tumour. The boys had been good friends, and at the time of Sacha’s death Charlie was only four years old. The death of Sacha, a smiley little boy, affected many families in his local community and his parents wanted some good to come from his tragic passing. Over the past five years the Remembrance Fund has raised over £46,851.65 for children with cancer in Malawi that do not have access to treatment.
To make Charlie's challenge even harder he wants to beat his personal best time of 26 minutes and 28 seconds and he will run every Saturday that he is able to. Charlie has created a totaliser so that he can cross off each run that he does.

"I love running, because when I am running lives are being saved at the same time."
