World Child Cancer is delighted to have Nutritional Therapist and BBC Expert Voice, Shahena Ali, hosting her own fundraising campaign on LaunchGood to give children with cancer the Gift of Growing Up this Ramadan.

“I first became involved with the charity when invited to join World Child Cancer's 'When I was Young' campaign and was later followed by a visit to see their work in Bangladesh. It was the latter that really drove home the importance of supporting children with cancer in Dhaka and beyond.”

World Child Cancer’s appeal to give the Gift of Growing Up aims to increase survival rates for children with cancer in developing countries, like Bangladesh, where survival rates are as low as 10%. As a UK Aid Match appeal, all donations made before 30th June will be doubled by the UK government meaning all support goes twice as far for children with cancer around the world.

“After hearing of World Child Cancer's appeal to Give the Gift of Growing Up I couldn't wait to get involved. With all donations made before 30th June doubled by the UK Government, this is was such a fantastic opportunity to ensure support for children with cancer goes twice as far."

We believe every child with cancer, no matter where they are born, deserves equal access to the best possible treatment and care. By training more healthcare professionals, providing essential support to families and empowering nurses we will improve standards of care and survival rates for children with cancer.
